Flashback to Commward 2023.
Nagad bagged 4 shiny awards from Bangladesh Brand Forum in association with Cannes Lions — and for the first time, I wasn’t just behind the ideas… I was on stage, collecting the wins.
It hit different. I had just made the leap from Copywriter to Marketing Communications, and these trophies? They weren’t just metal — they were validation. Proof that the jump wasn’t just bold, it was right.
The first time I felt the weight of recognition (literally — those trophies are heavy)… but deep down, I knew: this was only the beginning.
Let’s rewind to this photo from Digital Summit. A slightly sizzled marketeer here — you can tell I barely found time for a haircut back then. I’ll try not to sound too pompous, but thought I’d share a few glimpses from some campaigns I’ve had the privilege to work on.
Nagad BMW:
Arguably the biggest marketing campaign in Bangladesh in recent years. We brought onboard Ananta Jalil — a household name in Bangladeshi cinema — as the face of the campaign. Customers had the chance to win a range of exciting prizes, with a BMW X1 as the ultimate reward. Literally pour my heart and soul in this campaign. The scale, ambition, and execution of this campaign probably deserve a dedicated write-up of their own.
Nagad Weekly Car:
This campaign brought together strategy, emotion, and momentum. Cricket icon and the world’s No. 1 all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, kickstarted the campaign with a subtle viral teaser — a Facebook status that instantly set social media abuzz. Over 16 brand-new cars were handed out to winners. ATL, BTL, trade activation, influencer marketing — all gears fired together to create a truly 360-degree success.
ONE MORE TIME:
This one was close to the heart. We brought two legendary best friends — who had drifted apart — back together on screen for the first time. In collaboration with the iconic agency Asiatic, we told a nostalgic and emotional story of the two cricketers reminiscing about their journey and dreaming of one last appearance for Bangladesh in the World Cup. The OVC struck a chord with millions, reminding us all that some dreams never grow old.
